SIW Nick Whelan 08 (A+B)

Saint Ives Whelan Chronicles: Dominic Saint Ives - Whelan

Chapter Eight : Settling in.

Alright, just one thing, if one of them tries to challenge you, don't respond, they know better than to challenge a newly turned wolf, they know you can't fully shift until the next full moon and then they have to wait another two weeks, so you get accustomed to shifting and your wolf. If one dares to do so, I'll handle it, ok?

That's a deal, let's get this show on the road, she replied.

Fran squeezed his hand reassuringly, letting him know she'd be fine. She got out of the car and waited until Nick was with her again. She noticed quite a few people around the main house, a lot more than she had seen on her two previous visits here.

On the porch there was a small group talking amongst themselves, each one of them trying to look her over when they thought she wasn't looking. She gave each one a polite smile, but something inside her told her not to look away, to wait until the other person did just that. Fran smiled inwardly, it was probably her wolf that knew her mate was an Alpha and that she had to act like an Alpha's mate and show no submissive behavior.

You know I gave Arabella the day off and that we would be back tomorrow at work, but what about we take the rest of the week off. Then I can introduce you to the pack and they can get to know you. I'm sure your boss would understand if you start a week later, Nick mentally told her. It will calm most of them and if we throw them a little party it's a nice opportunity to all get acquainted in a relaxed setting.

That would be a nice thing to do, Fran replied agreeably.

Squeezing her hand this time, Nick turned around so he was facing most of the people around them. With a crystal clear voice he announced for all to hear, "You are right in assuming this lovely lady at my side is my mate. Her name is Francesca Ontario, and yes she's newly turned as well, your senses aren't fooling you. Now I know all of you will want to introduce yourselves and you'll get that opportunity tomorrow. We will be hosting a little party in the afternoon and the whole pack is welcome to join us. I can trust you all to let your family know and we'll be expecting you all around one o'clock."

A murmur was heard from the several little groups that had found their way towards the mansion. Most of them looked their way, respectfully nodded and then turned around, going back to whatever it was they were doing before they came here.

Only a few females remained and it was getting clear they were some of the singles that remained in the pack. Fran could feel the curiosity emanating from most of them, there was only just one that didn't seem curious, but she was raging with anger. As if the woman felt Fran's gaze on her, she turned around and looked at her, rage visible in her eyes.

Nick felt the shiver going through Fran and he searched for what it was that had his mate on edge so suddenly. His eyes falling upon the tall blond woman, a low rumbling started in his chest. That woman was trouble with a capital T and things weren't looking that good when the woman started to saunter in their direction. Hips swaying seductively from side to side, her hair loosely over her shoulders, her clothes barely covered any of her curves.

She's trouble, Fran. I hoped she wouldn't be here, last I heard she was out of the country, she must have gotten back today. Whatever she says, don't let her lure you into a verbal fight unless you are a hundred percent sure you can corner her. If not, then stay silent and just keep looking at her. Whether she likes it or not, she has to show you respect, he told her while he put his arm around her and pulled her closer to him.

I'll be the smart one today and let you do the talking, I'm afraid I'll say things I may regret later on and that is not how I want to start here. If she wants to cause trouble that is her choice, not mine. And if she thinks I'm weak by letting you do the talking she'll have another think coming later on, Fran replied firmly, her eyes never leaving the approaching blond woman.

Stopping in front of them, the blond woman eyed her up, raised a brow and looked defiantly at her. It was clear she wanted to start a fight and wouldn't stop until she got what she wanted. Little did she know she was in for the verbal slapping of a lifetime.

"So this is the little nobody that has wiggled her way into our pack, I thought better of you, Nick," she spoke softly, deliberately refusing to address him appropriately by his title. The blond noticed the twitch on Fran's face, hoping she would take the bait, she lashed out again.

"I really thought you would at least take a full wolf as mate, someone like me. You know how good we had it in the past, remember?" she teased, reaching out to stroke Nick's chest.

What the hell is this tramp talking about, Nick? she asked him, her eyes never leaving the woman in front of her. And who the hell does she think she is, talking crap like that?

Sadly, she's the biggest mistake I ever made in my life. You know when they say 'If I could turn back time'? This is such a time. Just after I came back from my search for my mate, I was lost. One night I had it so bad I got drunk, I mean really piss drunk, I didn't know what I was doing. She took advantage of that and wiggled her way into my bed. I don't know much of what happened between us, I was that drunk. Since that day she assumed that one day I would take her as my mate, but from then on I avoided her like the plague, he explained.

Forget about me being the smart one and shutting up today. If she wants a reply, she can have one and I hope she better shut up once I'm done, because if she doesn't, I swear to God, I'll rip her throat out the first chance I get, she replied heatedly. What's her name?

Dolores, he answered, a smile appearing on his face.

"Now you listen to me, you little hussy, and I warn you, don't let me repeat myself," Fran started, at the same time grasping Dolores' hand before it could reach Nick. "Just because you took advantage of someone decades ago does not mean you have any claim on them whatsoever. I, on the other hand, have."

Reaching over, she bared Nick's neck and pointed at the marks.

"That means he is mine and mine alone. If I ever see you trying to drape yourself over him like a common hussy again, I won't be held responsible for my actions. He is your Alpha, so you better start acting accordingly. Start showing some respect instead of trying to sell yourself, it doesn't suit any self-respecting woman. Did I make myself clear?" she ended her speech, surprising herself at how calmly and firmly she said all those things and what she said even.

She felt strong, relaxed, sure of herself and knowing that whatever she said was spot on. Fran kept her eyes on Dolores the entire time and was still gazing at her, waiting until the blond would capitulate and divert her eyes.

Dolores wanted and started to say something but a low growl next to Fran stopped it immediately. Looking at Fran she had to admit she had spunk and seemingly didn't run away from an argument. It was also clear she was being protective of her mate, doing so without thinking about it as if it was second nature.

She knew when she couldn't win and decided to let have Fran this little victory. Lowering her eyes, she nodded to both of them with respect.

"I apologize for my behavior, it won't happen again," Dolores spoke softly.

"It's ok," Fran said calmly. "I can understand where you're coming from, but you of all people should know what it means to someone of your kind to find their mate, especially after a long time of searching and giving up hope. I'm still amazed by a lot of things and I still need to learn a lot. WE accept your apology and I hope in the future we'll get along better. Maybe soon we can get together and you can fill me in on some little things?" she ended, surprising Dolores again.

Are you sure you want that, Fran? Nick asked.

Think I made my point clear, there is no use in holding a grudge. Believe it or not, you ARE quite a catch my dear, she replied. I have a feeling if we become friends, then the rest of the pack will be a walk in the park.

"I don't know, are you sure?" Dolores asked, playing along.

"Yes, I'm sure, else I wouldn't ask. Something tells me I'll be spending quite a bit of time here in the future, maybe we can go and grab some lunch one of these days and you can tell me more about the pack," she answered.

"In that case, I'd be honored," Dolores agreed to the given opportunity of getting to know Fran better.

"That's settled then ladies, but now, if you'll excuse us, we have some other matters to discuss in private. I'll make sure Fran gets your number, then you can set something up later in the week. I'll see you all tomorrow afternoon," Nick intervened.

Seeing the little sparks in his eyes, Fran knew all too well which private things he wanted to discuss. Quickly she waved to the people that still lingered around the mansion, while Nick pulled her with him. The smile on her face proof for the people around that there wasn't going to be much discussing done.

Once inside, it wasn't long before Nick had her in his arms, his lips devouring hers. Only when he needed oxygen did he release his firm lips from her luscious mouth, which was deliciously swollen from his kisses.

"You amaze me, sweetheart, the way you put her in her place and after that you're even being kind to her," he said, letting their foreheads touch. "I think the rest of the pack won't be a big issue if you can handle Dolores."

"Well, I did have a little bit of help" she grinned. "There was a certain wolf that quite didn't agree with how Dolores was flaunting herself over you. I just lost it a little when she talked so condescending about me and I didn't think it would be fair to let you put her straight then. I mean what would that say about me if I can't even verbally defend myself?"

"You did just fine, it reminds me never to have a fight with you. I don't want to be on the receiving end of the dagger you sent her way just now," he chuckled lightly.

"You know what not to do then, my dear," she teased, getting his joyous laughter as response.

"Come, let's sort our work for this week and organize that barbecue, I'm sure Arabella will be surprised, it's the first time in decades she'll be seeing me take some time off work, the look on her face today was already worth millions," he amusedly told her.

"And I'm sure there will be a few other things to discuss. One thing I'll say straight away, I am not giving up my job, family or friends, so if one of them is an issue, you better find a way to work with it. You know I won't tell about what you are. Sorry, about what we are. I'm aware there will be some immediate changes, some will be puzzled by them and I'll deal with that. But never ask me to give up my friends and family," she ended her speech.

Pulling her next to him on the couch, he turned her towards him and looked her straight in the eyes. He had realized by now that getting a new P.A. wasn't going to be the best move and he actually liked the idea of having Fran with him all the time.

"One, you were hired as my new P.A., that's what you'll stay, so if I need to travel, you'll come with me. Being far apart would tear our wolves apart. That's one issue cleared. As for your friends and family, I will not ask you to abandon them and I know you won't tell. Just in a few decades you have to limit the contact because they will start to notice you aren't aging as fast as a human. But even then we can work around it and sort something out. Does that ease your worries, my sweet? I want you to be happy, not miserable and left alone and deprived from your friends and relatives," he responded with a vivid speech of his own.

Somehow he had a feeling he would be seeing a lot more of her friends, remembering bits and pieces of the prophecy dream she had the other day, who was he to go against what was meant to be. One little detail was etched in his mind and he made a mental note to make work of that little detail.

"Yeah, that's comforting. I wouldn't know how else to cope," she spoke in relief.

"But let's get organizing now, I'll call Arabella and you get started on the barbecue? If you look on my desk you'll find a list of the pack owned stores and restaurants nearby. If you can contact them and let them know there is a barbecue on the schedule for tomorrow for the whole pack, they'll know what to do then and what to bring. Is that a deal?" he asked.

"That I should be able to manage, though I didn't think I would already start as your P.A. so soon," she pouted, the joy evident in her eyes. "And here I was thinking I could be lazy for another week. I tell you, I'm not seeing the perks yet of sleeping with the boss," she continued her teasing.

"Think twice before you say that," Nick said firmly before he filled her mind with a lot of things he would be doing with her later. He could see a blush creeping up her face and her eyes dilate. He chuckled loudly when Fran quickly turned, got up and swiftly strode out of the living room towards his home office.

Closing his eyes, he couldn't help but smile. He was sure of it now, one day that woman would be the death of him and he wouldn't think twice about it, she was damn well worth it. She surprised him many times today. First with their mating, then putting Dolores in her spot, and just now with her teasing. He wasn't complaining, he was overjoyed, to say the least.

Knock, knock? he suddenly heard in his mind. A faint smile on his face he replied. Who's there?

Me, who else, you silly. Just wanted to let you know that if you plan on doing what you just showed me, you better get that gorgeous ass of yours moving. I only had to make one phone call and they assured me they would take care of everything. So you see I've got nothing to do now.

His breath got caught in his throat with the images she sent next. A trail of clothes from his study leading towards his bedroom, she ended with letting him see her backside naked, while she slowly placed herself in his bed. Seeing her tempting curves and picking up the thin trail of her arousal he quickly got up.

Reaching in his pocket he speed dialed Arabella. Impatiently he tapped the floor with his booted foot.

"Hello, Nick, what I can I do for you?" came the calm reply on the other end after ringing once. Arabella knew what happened today was something special and when she saw who it was that called, she picked up the phone immediately.

"I'll be gone for the rest of the week, so will Fran. She's my mate, can you believe it? Anyways, sort what's needed, if anything comes up call Chris or Ed, they can take care of it. But I need to go now, have urgent matters to deal with. See you next week," he said in one breath and hung up before Arabella could even reply.

He dropped the phone on the coffee table and hurried over to his bedroom, stripping his clothes off along the way, making a second trail next to Fran's discarded clothes. Stopping in front of his bed, he only had his black boxer shorts on, but it wasn't doing a good job of containing his erect flesh.

"Looks like someone is overdressed, don't you think?" Fran seductively said while getting on her hands and knees and crawling towards him on the edge of the bed.

Stopping in front of him, she sat on her knees. Her hand teasingly traveled over his chest down to his abdomen. Tucking one finger in his boxers, she gave them a gently tug downwards, releasing his throbbing flesh that proudly saluted her.

"Someone is happy to see me," she said, using the so well-known saying.

Reaching out she put her hand around him, moving it up and down slowly. Nick closed his eyes and enjoyed her movements. He stifled a breath when he felt her hot mouth covering one of his nipples. He braided his fingers through her long locks, cupping her head, guiding her sweet kisses over his torso.

Nick, I don't know what it is, but I need you inside of me. Like now!

Looking down he saw the golden sparks in her eyes and he realized what was happening. He didn't think it was possible so fast, but it seemed her wolf? libido was melting together with her own and intensifying her feelings tenfold. It normally took about a week before this change happened.

Smiling at her, he lowered himself to capture her lips in a tantalizing kiss.

It's ok sweetie. Seems your wolf is a bit faster in adapting and merging with you than normal. And let's just say we have a healthy sex drive. I'm glad we took the rest of the week off now, he explained briefly.

Are you now? And what will we be doing then the rest of the week?

Do I really have to tell you? I'd rather show it, one position at a time.

Releasing her lips, he gently pushed her on her back. Starting a slow sensuous path of hot kisses, he lingered a bit, giving her breasts some needed attention. He licked, sucked, nipped and squeezed them, everything forcing passionate moans from Fran.

Traveling down, he dipped his tongue in her belly button. She shrieked out in laughter.

That tickles!

Being generous he licked around it before continuing his downward path towards the sweet valley between her thighs. He knelt in front of the bed, taking in her sweet aroma. His hands tucked under her knees, he spread her legs, making her open up completely and unable to hide her nicely trimmed pussy. Inhaling her scent again, he looked down on her sweet pink lips that glistened with her juices.

His eyes traveled up, he saw her looking at him, her own eyes half closed but still filled with passion and desire. Giving her a devilish grin, he winked at her and licked his lips. Then he bent down and ever so slowly he licked the outsides of her labia, pausing when he passed her clit, giving it a few quick twirls with the tips of his tongue.

This was only the start of the many orgasms he would be giving her and that he would be receiving from her.

***

Nick stepped in the shower behind Fran, grabbing the big sponge and started lathering up her back.

"Morning, sweetheart," he huskily spoke next to her ear.

"Morning," she replied. "Though I'm not sure if half past eleven is really morning, it's nearly noon already."

Turning around, she took the sponge from him and rewarded him with the same treatment he had given her back just seconds before. Letting her eyes roam over his impressive chest, she couldn't help but smile. He sure had done his best to work his way through the mental images he had sent her yesterday. She had been more then a willing participant.

Her cheeks flushed when she remembered how passionate he had been. He'd been gentle the one time, harder the next, always one goal in his mind, giving her joy and pleasure. Brushing the sponge over his abdomen she saw he was already getting hard again and she looked up at him, a boyish grin plastered on his face.

"Don't have such explicit thoughts then, my dear," Nick chuckled before conquering her lips.

Picking Fran up, he pushed her against the shower wall. Checking her wet slit, he knew she was ready and he lined his cock up and with one single push, he buried himself to the hilt in her warm depths.

Just entering her had him on edge and he had to fight hard not to cum so quickly, but she was pure heaven to him, the way she draped herself around him, how her pussy clenched his hard flesh. He could stay like this for eternity.

"Nick, now is not the time for stalling," she breathed heavily.

Her words broke through his barrier of self-control, again, and he gripped her firmly and started moving in earnest, their bodies slapping together each time he pushed up. He felt her shaking, could feel her inner walls clamping down on his cock, amazing him that after all the orgasms he gave her she was still able to come with such a passion for him. It urged him on, lighting his own fire even more as he kept pumping inside of her.

Coming to her senses after another mind blowing experience she could feel he was nearing as well. Fran braced herself and brought her lips towards his neck, licking the tiny marks, she felt her wolf stir and knew right away what she wanted. Letting her take over, she felt her canines grow again and the urge to reclaim him grew tenfold. At the exact right moment she felt him tremble and that was when she bit him again.

Mine! he heard in his mind. Unable to respond, he kept riding the high of his release, pumping his seed in her hot cave. Once his urges were satisfied, he cradled her body to his, reached over and turned off the water that had been cascading down on them the entire time, and sat down on the floor, Fran straddling his lap. He felt her release him and lick the tiny wounds.

"Sorry," she said, looking up at him.

Placing his finger on her soft lips, he stopped her from saying anything more.

"Don't be. I told you never to be sorry for anything that happens between us and our wolves. If you feel you need to claim me, you can do that as much as you want," Nick reassured her. I am yours, as you are mine, always. Never doubt your wolf. You keep on amazing me as to how well you are taking this all, especially your change, it's like you're a natural, he continued in their minds.

You did give me a little head start, your blood did help make this easier. I don't know how overwhelmed I'd be. I can see sharper and the smell, it's amazing and wonderful all at the same time. I can't wait to shift and run free in the woods here. That is why you have this place isn't it? To have a private and secluded hide away to let the wolves run free.

It is indeed. We've owned this for centuries now and even when things were tough and hard we were able to hold on to it. Many packs have a similar estate where possible, some have to make do with just a nearby forest and have to be very careful not to get caught while running. We're very lucky and privileged.

How come I didn't see anyone then, the first time you brought me to the lake?

I can sense the pack and where they are. Nobody was near that night. The day after I did warn them to stay back. I didn't yesterday, that's why so many were around the mansion. They smelled a new wolf on their territory and knew I was near, they're a curious bunch, but they're good people, every single one of them.

"Even Dolores?" she asked out loud, sitting up and looking him straight in the eyes.

"Yes, even Dolores. She may not have showed her best side and she tends to be a pain in the butt, but she is valuable to the pack. I was surprised a bit at her behavior yesterday. She should have known better, but you put her straight back in her spot. Believe it or not, she is the caretaker of the pups that remain at home and she adores them like she's their mother. It's like she has two personalities, caring and tender for the little ones she's looking after, but once they're back home it's like someone else surfaces. Most tend to leave her be and mind their own business," he explained.

"Talk about a Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde personality. She seemed ok after I told her off," she said. "Can't wait to have lunch with her, see if she really can be as nice as you say she can be. If she's only playing along she'll be in for a ride, I won't have her flaunting herself over you. You are mine."

While they were talking Nick had gotten himself free from her still moist folds. Grabbing Fran's waist, he got them standing again. Reaching behind her, he put the water back on.

Enough talking done. We better get ready now or we'll be late for our own barbecue.

Hey! I was taking a shower to get ready, someone else decided to interrupt me while doing so, she shot back, poking his chest.

She could hear the low rumble in his chest, then he laughed out loud.

You didn't exactly protest either, my sweet.

Ok, ok, you win, but let's get a move on now. I really don't want to let them wait.

Don't worry, they'd understand why we'd be late, they may as well get used to it.

Is it always going to be like this? This wanting desire to spend each second together? she asked.

I would hope so. Maybe over time we can restrain ourselves a little better, but I have no real desire for that. I'm liking this very much and I wouldn't change it for the world.

Me neither. But as you said, let's get moving, I'm sure they're dying to get a glimpse of me, don't want to disappoint them so soon already.

Rubbing each other? back, they swiftly rinsed the soap away and got out of the shower, drying themselves. Fran then realized she didn't have any clean clothes to put on and she wasn't so keen to put on her working attire for the barbecue. Nick picked up on her uneasiness and smiled.

"Give me a minute, I'll be right back," he told Fran, while walking towards his front door.

Peeking outside he thanked Arabella, the sweet old lady had guessed right. Outside his front door were a few bags with some expensive designer names on it and a tiny cardboard box with "Victoria's Secret" neatly printed on the top. Arabella, you little devil, I'm going to miss you when you're retiring soon he thought while he picked up the bags and the neat box.

"It seems we have a little guardian angel," he spoke loudly. Making his way back to his bedroom he saw Fran sitting in the middle of his bed, the towel neatly tucked away under her arms, while she was trying to sort her hair.

"Look," he said, holding up the bags. "I'm sure there is something in there you could put on. I'm really curious as to what is in this box though."

He dropped the bags in front of the bed and put the box near Fran. He bent down and reached for the lid, but Fran beat him to it.

"Patience, you'll get to be the judge of that later. We have a barbecue to attend first. Maybe later tonight you can unwrap that," she teased, holding the Victoria's Secret box close to her chest. "Now, get out, then I can get ready."

"Ok, ok, you win this time," he sulked. He really was curious what Arabella had brought over, being a rather conservative dresser herself.

He went to his study, trying to make the best of the little time he had while waiting on Fran. Making a quick list of people to be notified of his changed status, he smiled. He counted himself a very lucky man and he would go beyond his power to keep his love happy. He also made a note to keep Fridays work free from now on. It would be their day to work on the car. He hadn't forgotten about that and he was already planning on what to do with the car once it was ready.

I'm ready, if you are, he heard Fran in his mind.

Ok, I'll be right there, putting some papers away. I'll meet you in the living room, sweetie, he replied.

When he entered, he stopped dead in his tracks. Fran looked stunning. And he had to give Arabella a big bonus when she retired. She must have remembered the color of Fran's clothes because the dress fitted the shoes she wore yesterday. It was a simple dress, fifties style and it hugged her curves perfectly, as if the dress was made to fit only her.

Fran had braided her hair to one side, so it rested on one shoulder. She was surprised at the many bags at first, but when she laid out the contents it made sense. She had smiled when she figured out it was an old fashioned dress with a few petticoats. Only two, but enough to make the skirt of the dress look very tailored and neat.

"You like?" she asked Nick, a twinkle in her eyes, then making a twirl so the skirt whirled around her legs.

"You look stunning. We better hurry outside now or else," he replied, wiggling his eyebrows.

"You're terrible, Nick. Only one thing on your mind."

"I can't help it, love, you look amazing and you'd look even more stunning in my bed," he relented, shrugging his shoulders. "But let's go, I can smell the barbecue already, I'm sure the others are curious as well."

Tucking her hand in the crook of his elbow, he escorted her to the back of the mansion. A lot of people had already gathered and were talking together in small groups. Fran saw little kids running wildly amongst the adults.

Are the triplets here as well? she asked Nick.

They should be somewhere. If you see one of them the other two are probably nearby. Most of our younglings are able to shift by the time they're two years old, but the triplets are either refusing to do so or just don't have the ability yet. So look out for pups. Though I'm quite sure they'll make an appearance soon enough. Think they like you, he replied.

She gave him a pleasant smile and squeezed his arm lightly.

I'll look out for them, I like them as well. But let's get this show on the road, I'm sure they're dying to find out what the deal is.

Nick halted at the top of the stairs and cleared his throat, gaining the attention of every adult person that was present. He quickly scanned all of their faces looking for the littlest sign if someone would act up, but all he saw was either surprise or curiosity and with some he could detect happiness.

He even spotted Dolores in the background and it seemed she? made a 180 degree turn. She caught his searching eyes and nodded respectfully, stating again she now knew her place and had no issues. This relieved Nick of the one burden he had hoped not to happen, that someone would oppose his mate and her being a newly turned wolf.

"Thank you all for joining us this afternoon. I'm quite sure the news has spread like fire, so let me make it official. Yes, I have found my mate. You all know I had given up on ever finding her, but a few days ago luck was at my side and she literally fell into my arms. I haven? been able to let her go since. So everyone, meet Francesca Ontario, my mate, my companion and your new Alpha female," he ended his little speech.

Looking at Fran, he saw a light blush covering her cheeks, making her look even more stunning than she already was. Her eyes widened a little when she started picking up the overwhelming emotions of the rest of the pack in front of her. She had sensed surprise mostly before, but now that was changing to pure joy and happiness.

Shyly she looked at all of them, and she also caught Dolores looking at them. The nod the woman gave strengthened her self-esteem and she straightened up, looking more confident. Fran heard several people starting to clap their hands, a few males whistling and several congratulations were shouted at them.

I think they approve, my sweet. Ready to mingle? she heard Nick say silently.

Giving him a quick nod, they made their way down the stairs and stopped at the first group of people. Again they congratulated them on their bonding, the men patting Nick on the back, letting him know he had done them proud.

Not a single conversation lasted long because many people wanted to say hi and join in on the ongoing conversations.

They managed to get hold of a few dinner plates and filled them with a nice selection of the food that was spread over several long tables. Once seated at a separate small table, they enjoyed the happy buzz of the activities and chattering around them.

They're all lovely people, Nick. It will take some adjusting, but I'm pretty sure things will work out fine. I only have one problem. How do I explain everything to my parents? I know telling them the truth is out of the question, but I have to tell them something. Last thing they know I was still a happy single two weeks ago. Today I'm bonded with you and something tells me you'll have me moving in this week as well, she told him, nudging him lightly, a smile on her face.

I know and we'll work it out, I promise. But let us enjoy this week first before we think about more pending matters. Let the pack get to know you and you learn more about them. Even though you took your change very well, and faster than one normally would, you will still need some time to adjust. And we have a lot of catching up to do, he continued their mental conversation.

Catching up? We're almost spent every waking second together since we met, there isn't much left to catch up on.

There is, my sweet, you have no idea how many years of built up passion I have to get out of my system. He gave her a wink, then tipped the beer bottle, taking a big sip before putting it back on the table. Immediately he saw the familiar pink blush creeping upon her cheeks. I'm sure I can find a few ways of getting your cooperation in achieving that goal. I must warn you though, it will take several decades, you're up for that challenge? he teased her a bit more.

Leaning over, Fran brushed her lips over the tiny marks.

You better keep up with me then, she said while she gave a quick nip over his marks.

Turning towards her, he captured her lips in a searing kiss. The gesture had many people around them cheering their approval at his openly expressed feelings. When he released her lips, they were deliciously wet and swollen from his fierce but gentle kiss and her cheeks had a light pink glow to them.

Although she didn't know all of them yet, they all made her feel welcome and at ease. Even the little demonstration of Nick had them cheering them on. At first she did feel a little embarrassed but she had to admit to herself she was the instigator this time. Fran was sure things between them would never get dull, they both loved to tease the other one too much.

She grasped his hand under the table and curled her fingers around his. Leaning lightly against him she started looking at the people around them more carefully. Once in a while she saw someone looking their way and she had to smile each time the person in question noticed she was looking back and smiled at them reassuringly.

Fran also tried to find the triplets, she hadn't seen them yet. Curiously she wondered where the little rascals where hiding. Bending over to Nick she whispered she was going to walk around a little and see if she could find them. He nodded agreeably.

With a straight back he saw her disappear amongst his people. Many of them greeted her personally and welcomed her. It made him feel proud of his pack. They knew she was a newly turned wolf and none of them let their wolf out as would be the norm to take in the scent of the new pack member. They were showing their respect towards her by not shifting, knowing she still needed to get to know her wolf better. They would wait until the next full moon before they would shift in her presence.

Following her through the crowd, he couldn't help but smile contently.

Ooh, I found them! The little rascals are all the way in the back, Dolores is watching them, he heard her say in his mind suddenly.

Fran's eyes lit up when she saw the three daredevils playing with each other at Dolores' feet. Stepping closer she picked up their joyful mood and did her best to hold back her own laughter. Something must have warned them though because suddenly she was overrun by the triplets again, just like the first time she met them.

"Now, now, don't you remember from last time? Be nice and calm and I have no troubles playing with all of you," she told them off. Sitting down on her knees, she gave Dolores a quick look and saw surprise on her face.

Fran patted the space in front of her and without hesitation the three little pups sat down in front of her, their tails joyfully waggling in all directions. Reaching out, the black pup, Damon, pushed his head in her scratching hand, just as he had last time. Only this time he was sniffing at her as well, picking up there was something different about her now since last time he had played with her.

Dividing her attention, she patted her lap while looking at Bill, the multicolored bundle of joy. Picking up her new scent a bit quicker than his brother, he didn't leap on her lap as he had last time, but cautiously approached her.

"It's ok, little Bill, you know I won't harm you. I'm like you now. Well not completely, I still have to shift. But I've heard you all haven't done either, so we have something in common now don't we?" she softly spoke to the pups.

Reassured by her tender voice, he knew all was well. At the last second Bill jumped on her lap, his front paws on her shoulders. He just wanted to lick her all over her face when she stopped him.

"This is a party, Bill. You can't just go slobbering over others like that. They would think I'd taken a shower by the time you're done," she corrected his behavior. "That doesn't mean we can't play," she then said, playfully rolling him on his back and scratching his belly.

Damon nudged her hand, making clear he wanted the same attention and rolled on his back next to his brother. Holding back a chuckle, Fran ran her hand through his soft fur, tickling him in many places, just as she was doing with Bill.

Overlooking the scene in front of her, Robin tilted her head. She was the smart one out of the three and while she was mostly eager to join in her brothers' playfulness, she held back now. Tilting her head, the sun captured the different shades of red in her fur. She had smelled the new scent the day before already. It had lingered in the woods surrounding the lake, near the spot where she hid when she wasn't up to joining her brothers in their boisterous play-times.

She was glad she now had a face to accompany the scent. After a few more tentative moments she felt the tugging of Damon and Bill, wanting her to join in. Gazing at her brothers she felt a slight tinge of jealousy and suddenly she was all to eager to jump in and get her share of attention. Robin wiggled her way in between her brothers and butted Fran's hand, demanding her attention and affection.

Fran had to smile when the last of the triplets demanded some of her attention. She tussled the red manes of the pup and scratched behind her ears. She was glad she had found the little rascals because she had to admit, the little things had won her over in a heartbeat, she simply adored them.

Fran was startled a bit when she heard someone say something to her. While she was playing with the daredevils she was aware of her surroundings, so much she was enjoying playing with them.

"I'm sorry, I didn't catch what you said. Mind saying it again?" she spoke. Looking up she saw the only person nearby was Dolores.

"I said that I'm surprised at how well behaved they are being with you. It's a first really. They would normally be all over you by now," Dolores repeated her comment.

"Trust me, they haven't changed much then. But I stopped them and simply told them that if they were nice, they each would get some cuddles and they behaved, believe it or not," she said.

"They are charming when they want to be, I'll agree with you on that part. But the troubles they have caused, you wouldn't believe it."

"Nick told me they aren't shifting, you know anything more about that?" she then asked Dolores, trying to get to know her a little better by asking her stuff she could easily ask Nick.

"I'm not sure. Sometimes when a youngling starts shifting depends a little in what form the mother has given birth to them. With a single pup, they tend to stay in human form, but when its twins or more, shifting to wolf in your last trimester is more logical. Our wolven bodies carry them easier and giving birth is easier as well. For some reason their mom never shifted to wolf in her last trimester and she gave birth to them the human way. We nearly lost all three of them if it wasn't for Merlin," Dolores explained.

"Merlin, he? I should have expected him popping up at some point. Nick spoke rather fondly of him."

"They are good friends, that is true, but he doesn't visit often. But the little rascals here were lucky he was visiting at the time of their birth. I don't know how he did it, but he forced the little ones to shift, they're much stronger in their wolf form and that saved them. Since then they haven't shifted back, even though they should be able to, they're five years old now. A first shift for a pup is usually around two years of age," Dolores ended her story.

With a sigh Fran looked down at the little daredevils in front of her. Right now they were an entangled mess of fur and paws, still enjoying the playful attentions of Fran.

"So the question would be are they unable to change or are they just having a run around with the whole pack and they are able to shift. It may be they just enjoy their wolf side a lot more?" she thought out loud.

"That's what has us all puzzled," a dark, tender voice said behind her. "I'll have to ask Merlin to check up on them sometime soon. We need to know if they're able to shift or not, especially at times when it matters," Nick continued, while he knelt behind Fran and hugged her, trailing his lips over her temple.

"I'm curious about it as well," she agreed with Nick. "And it would give me an opportunity to learn more about Merlin."

"I'll wait until after your first shift, then I'll contact him and see if he knows maybe why."

"I'll get them back to their parents now, they've been running around like mad the whole day. I bet they're getting pretty worn out," Dolores said, interrupting their conversation.

Fran looked down and saw that Billy had curled himself up next to her legs and was blissfully snoring away. Damon wasn't far behind on her other side. Robin on the other hand sat back and was looking at all of them, as if she was able to understand each word that was being said.

"Yeah, I agree, all the jumping and running. Who wouldn't be tired then?" Fran agreed. "I'll let you gather them up and bring them back. Remember to call sometime this week, then we can set up a lunch date," she reminded her.

"Will do. Again, sorry for yesterday, it won't happen again. I'm glad to see our Alpha has found a strong mate. I'll see about that lunch date, maybe sometime next weekend?" Dolores asked.

"That would be fine. I'm sure Nick got your number somewhere, I'll call Friday, that ok?" she returned the question.

"Ok, I'll talk to you on Friday then. But I'm going to hurry now before they all fall asleep, it's easier to get them over with at least one or two awake still. They're getting heavier by the minute, I'm sure of it!" Dolores sighed, but smiling at the pups.

Saying quick goodbyes, Nick and Fran watched as Dolores walked away. Billy cozily snuggled up in her arms and a drowsy Damon and bright awake Robin walking to either side of her.

She isn't as bad as you made her out to be, Nick. She's actually quite nice. She adores the pups, it's obviously clear to see that.

Maybe she needed someone to put her straight, Nick teasingly replied.

I only did what felt right at the time, she was out of line and showing no respect. I noticed how all the people act around you, and it was evidently clear you are respected, she should have done the same.

You are right, my sweet, but she never acted like she had yesterday, so it was never really needed before to get her back in line. I was glad you did it yourself. You gained a strong ally with her and a lot of respect from the pack as well.

Looking at her watch she saw it was early evening. Turning around she noticed that some people were getting ready to leave. Clutching Nick's hand, she gave it a little tug and nodded her head in the direction of the departing people.

"Let's go say goodbye. It may be a little evil of me, but I hope they all leave soon. I want you back for myself," she grinned.

"And then I get accused of being the horny one. Oh help me dear lord, what have I unleashed," he theatrically said, his face turning upwards to the sky above. He felt a sharp stomp on his upper arms again. "You're going to have me all black and blue if you keep punching me like that."

"Then stop being a smart ass," she tried to say sternly, but the corner of her mouth was twitching.

"You don't like me being the smart one, he? I can solve that for you," he said, a big grin appearing on his face.

He picked her up and threw her over his shoulder, fireman style, and hastily made his way through the few people that remained. They took in the view of their Alpha carrying his mate over his shoulder and was rapidly walking back to the mansion. They all did their best to hide their smile and not cheer him on.

Nick, put me down, now! What won't they think of us? Nick? You caveman, put me down! she yelled in his mind.

Caveman, you got that part right, babe. I'm dragging you back to my cave and I'm going to ravish and devour you until you can't move anymore. Then I'll push you even further, my sweet cave woman. Now, be quiet while I carry you to my cave. He accompanied the last remark with a light swat on her luscious bum.

Fran buried her face in his back, trying to hide the shame she felt, being carried away like this for all to see. But she had to admit, it did make her feel wanted and desired as well. She was pretty sure Nick would make sure that every word he said would come true and she was getting anxious and aroused.

ooo

The rest of the week was spent getting to know each other even better. They told each other of their past, elaborating more about friends and family. There wasn't a topic untouched.

It was only a call from Adam that put a little dampener on things. It seemed a few rogue werewolves were creating a nuisance in town. Nick didn't like hiding the little fact that it was Fran's friend Bron who was the victim of the attack. He was angry at Adam for waiting so long to tell him about the attack and he made sure the man knew that.

Nick was reluctant to leave Fran alone, but this situation needed his immediate attention. He called his brothers Ed and Chris, also his two commanding beta's, and called a late night meeting in his office together with Adam. He wanted to sort this situation out before it could escalate into something much worse than a single attack.

It was decided that Ed would go out scouting the city and report back with what he found out and then they would solve the situation. Rogue wolves were simply not allowed and were dealt with immediately.  It would take only one bad event to occur and their existence could be jeopardized and that was something all packs agreed on, that could not happen.

Nick was tense for the next few days, but when the weekend came Ed called and let him know the situation was sorted. It was three rogue wolves, searching for a fight and possibly gaining numbers by biting their victims.

However, Nick was a bit in turmoil whether he should tell Fran everything right now or if he should wait until Adam had won over Bron completely.  Knowing either way she would get upset about the truth, he decided not to tell her the woman that was attacked was Bron. He knew Adam, it wouldn't take him long to win over Bron. He was sure it would be a lot easier filling in Fran when those two had made their peace.

When Sunday afternoon arrived, Nick drove them to Fran? flat. Reluctantly she had accepted the clothes that were bought for her, but she had to admit, Arabella had excellent taste. She blushed when she reminisced about the evenings when Nick peeled off the tiny pieces of lace that resembled the Victoria? Secret lingerie. She had to thank the lady when she saw her tomorrow at work.

Nick had settled himself on the couch and was flicking through some TV channels while she was checking her cupboards and fridge. There wasn't anything left that could produce a decent meal so she opted for a home delivery meal. She hugged Nick from behind, a small folder in each hand.

"So what do you fancy having tonight?" she asked, waving both papers in front of him. "Chinese or a pizza?"

"Hmm, that's a tough one, can't I have you for dinner?" he answered, looking up, then lightly brushing his lips over the curve of her graceful neck.

"You are insatiable, Nick. Maybe if you're good and eat everything, you may have some dessert, but these are your two options for now. So what will it be?" she asked again.

"I wouldn't mind having a pizza, lots of meat," he replied in between the little nibbles he was placing on her collarbone.

She placed the order and then settled next to Nick. While he kept on switching between programs she closed her eyes and thought back at the past week of her life. How it had changed, she still couldn't quite believe it. She adapted pretty fast and quickly learned to go with the urges of her wolf. Everybody in the pack liked her, well almost everybody.

The previous Friday was the only setback. She had lunch with Dolores and it was clear pretty quick the blond had been trying to lead her on, making her believe she had accepted her as Nick's mate. Dolores felt she was permitted to say whatever she wanted and she tried to throw in every hurtful remark she could come up with. Fran did her very best to not let Dolores get the best of her and she? succeeded.

She let the blond have her ranting, thinking she was getting the upper hand. At the same time she had asked Nick what her options were with Dolores. He told her she, Fran, could challenge her, an option she quickly discarded, she wasn't a violent person. Another option would be to let her know that if she wasn't able to accept Fran, she was free to find another pack who would take her in.

Fran was aware that Dolores probably knew her available options. She stood up and looked down at her.

"You're probably expecting me to challenge you, Dolores, but you are wrong, I won't. I am not a violent person and won't be tricked into becoming one. So you have one option left, two actually. Either you find a way to accept me and you can stay with the pack, or you can find yourself a new pack. The choice is yours, Dolores," she had said to the woman.

It was clear Dolores hadn't expected that answer, as her eyes were changing constantly trying to hold back a public shift to werewolf. Fran smiled inwardly, she had her cornered with no way out.

"So, what is it going to be?" she asked again when Dolores still hadn't answered.

"I'll leave," Dolores said through clenched teeth, fuming at her defeat.

"Consider this a goodbye lunch then. Make sure you're moved out by tomorrow evening and say your goodbyes," she spoke firmly.

Turning around, she said a little prayer, hoping Dolores wouldn't snap, and walked up to the owner and paid for their lunch. Outside, she got into her car, locked the doors from the inside and let out a long sigh. She made it out in one piece, she never thought she would have been able to if it wasn't for Nick's constant reassuring comments in her mind that she was doing great.

Opening her eyes again, she looked at the calendar behind her. She saw that the full moon was nearing as well and her wolf was starting to get itchy, she wanted to run, be free, she wanted to smell the others, familiarize herself with the rest of the pack and let the pack get to know her.

One more week sweetie, then you'll be able to run free, she suddenly heard Nick in her mind.

That was the one thing she had the most difficulty adapting to, sure it had its advantages, but she'd be glad once she'd learned to block her thoughts a little. She didn't mind sharing and she kind of understood the need of being connected, but sometimes she really wanted to be ?lone

You'll learn that over time, my sweet and I promise I won't just barge in in the future, but right now I just need to be sure you are all right, my wolf needs to know you are ok. He will settle after your first shift, Nick invaded again.

She gave him a light thump on his chest and wanted to tell him off when the doorbell rang. It was the delivery guys with their pizzas. She let Nick place them on the coffee table while she fetched a couple of beers from the fridge. Once done she put the boxes in the kitchen and went back to Nick, cuddling close to him. She didn't want him to go just yet, but she knew he had to, but it would only be for the night, she'd see him again tomorrow at work.

Reluctantly they said their goodbyes. Fran stood in her doorway until Nick disappeared completely from her view. Back inside she finally listened to her messages. They were all from Lis and then she realized she never called her, they were supposed to meet on Tuesday after work. The first few messages sounded ok, typical Lis - style, short to the point. By the time she was listening to the last one Lis was more in a panic, frightened that something had happened to her.

Looking at the time, she realized it would be too late to call Lis but she dialed her phone nonetheless. If she didn't pick up she at least could leave a message that she was ok and apologize for not calling sooner. She didn't have to wait long before Lis picked up.

"Where the hell have you been, Fran? I was worried sick. If I didn't hear anything from you by tomorrow I would have called the police. Please tell me you're all right?" Lis worriedly spoke when picking up the phone.

"Calm down, calm down. First of all, I'm fine, nothing? wrong. Secondly, sorry that I didn't call back. Think I must have turned my mobile off at some point and forgot to turn it back on. I listened to all your messages just now and decided to call, despite the late hour. I won't bore you with the details now," she answered Lis, but Lis interrupted her.

"You're not getting off the hook so easily, you're going to tell me where you were and you're going to tell me now, if you don't I'll be down in two minutes and beat on your door until you let me in and tell me then. The choice is yours."

"Ok, ok, I don't want you to wake up my neighbors. I spent the week at Nick's place. When I went to work on Monday and found out who my new boss is things kind of happened fast."

"So who is your new boss then?" Lis asked.

"You heard of Dominic Saint Ives Whelan, right?"

"I have. Don't tell me, he's your new boss? I knew you went to SIW Inc and got the job, but you never told us whose P.A. you were going to be."

"Well, the best part is yet to come, you have met him already," Fran then teased Lis.

"I'm pretty sure I haven't met the man, he's as reclusive as they come, he makes a hermit look like a pop star," Lis said in denial.

"Ok, I'm only going to say this once, so you better be awake enough to let that pretty brain of yours do some work. I'm the new P.A. of Dominic Saint Ives Whelan and I?e been going out with Nick Whelan for just over a week now," she revealed and then waited for the moment when Lis would realize what she was saying. Silently she started counting backwards from ten down. Lis must have been tired because Fran got down to three before it dawned on her.

"No way, you're kidding, really? Your Nick is THE Dominic?" Lis asked in surprise.

"The one and the same. You should have seen my face that Monday morning. Even the night before I told him what my new job was and for who and he didn't say a word. But he made a big effort in explaining why he didn't and I agree with him. He is a very private person and I respect his reasons. And Lis, he's the one, he really is the one. This past week has been so amazing. I can't imagine myself without him and it's the same for him," she revealed even more.

"Damn girl, when you do something, you really do it good, don't you? So I can gather you two are a hot item now? So when? the wedding?" Lis jokingly asked.

The last question puzzled her a little, a wedding? She didn't think that was a possibility and she had never given it any thought, her mind had been busy with other more important and pleasant activities. She did know she wouldn't be staying in her flat for much longer, she was sure of that, she could already feel the pull of her wolf longing for her mate, even though he had only been gone for a few minutes.

"Yes, we're an item and maybe things are going fast, it feels right. For once in my life I'm following my heart instead of my rational brain. He's my other half, Lis, I need him as much as he needs me. That much has become clear in the last week. I can't fight it."

"Oh dear Fran, you got it good. The love bug has finally hit you head on. And you went straight for the cherry on top of the pie while you were at it. I'm happy for you, but promise me one thing?"

"What's that?"

"Never ever, ever, ever let me be so worried again. I know you sometimes forget to turn on your mobile, but this long was not like you. I was worried sick about you."

"I promise, Lis, I'll even get a new one with a good battery that lasts ages before I need to recharge it," she agreed with the promise. "But sweetie, go to bed now, you know I'm fine now and all is well and you need your sleep. You won't be a complete person in the morning if you don't go to bed now. I'll have coffee ready for you in the morning if you manage to get up before I leave for work," she reassured Lis.

"Hmmm, coffee la Fran, who can resist that? I'm setting my alarm, maybe I'll wake you up first," she teased. "You can fill in some details then, don't think I'm letting you of the hook so easy."

"Sure, that's a deal then, but Lis, go to bed now. I'm going to do the same, last week has been a little tiring and I could use a few hours as well."

"That's ok, Fran. I will see you in the morning. Sweet dreams," Lis said, ending her side of the call.

"See you in the morning and sweet dreams for you too," Fran returned and then hung up.

Putting down the phone she let out a relieved sigh, she was able to tell Lis all she needed to know and she didn't reveal anything and she didn't lie. Walking to her bedroom she realized she really was dead tired. She had wanted to take a quick shower before heading to bed, but the sudden fatigue that hit her just made her strip off her clothes in front of her bed and crawl in.

Closing her eyes it didn't last long before sleep overtook her. The next morning a loud beating on her front door woke her up. Looking at her alarm clock she could only think of Lis that had to be abusing her door so early on. She kicked the sheets off and answered it.

"I'm awake, you can stop hitting my door now," she said gruffly while she yanked open the door. Only it wasn't Lis standing there but Nick with a boyish grin on his face.

"Sorry, I couldn't stay away, I missed you too much. But I did bring a peacemaker for waking you up so early," he apologetically said, holding up a bag. She could smell the freshly made coffee and a whiff of sugary delights.

"Come in, just give me a second, I need a shower first," she said, rushing him inside. "Make yourself at home, I'll be right back."

She hurried back to her bathroom, turned on the shower and hopped under it. She didn't waste much time, washed her hair, gave herself a quick rub from head to toe and got out again. Nick was leaning against the door frame, his hands stretched out, holding a towel.

"Come, I'll help you dry off, at least give me that pleasure. I was such a good boy resisting the urge to step in and wash your back, amongst other things," he huskily spoke.

She stepped into his arms, the towel now lightly draped around her. Only Nick didn't start drying her off, he bent his head, conquering her sweet lips and kissing her senseless.

I'd love to continue this, Nick, but the chances are high Lis will be here soon and we really have to get to the office as well, Fran told him, when it was becoming quite clear he had other things in mind.  She felt his hard flesh nestled snugly against her belly and all though she would have loved to continue as well, one had to use her mind.

I don't ever want to stop making love to you, my sweet, you're too tempting, came his reply.

He cupped her butt and lifted her up as she grabbed his broad shoulders and locked her legs around his waist to prevent herself from falling. She heard a light chuckle coming from Nick.

You should trust me better, I'd never let you fall. But I need to have you, now, he let her know.

He carried her to her bathroom cabinet and set her down on top of it. He threw away the towel and exposed her luscious body, her chest heaving fast, her hard little tips barely brushing against his black shirt. Slowly and tenderly he followed the curve of her breast, making a circle around it until he was nearing her dark pink nipple that was inviting him to suckle it. Cupping her breast, he offered it to himself as he lowered his head and his mouth feasted on the delicious flesh he was holding.

Her head fell back at the sensations he was provoking, she felt tingles going up and down her spine. He was tormenting her ever so slowly, sucking and licking her nipple and breast. He held up her other breast the same way and was now dividing his attention between them, switching back and forth. She could feel the heat emanating from him and she longed to feel him inside of her.

Reaching for his belt, she quickly unbuckled him and zipped open his pants. The sigh she felt against her bosom was a small sign of his approval. She didn't hesitate and dipped one hand in his boxers, quickly finding his hard manhood. He groaned out load, pushing himself harder in her hand. One of Nick's hands traveled south, lightly brushing through the short curls that covered her pussy.  His thumb flicked over her clit a few times before he dove even deeper and dipped in two fingers at once.

He was a bit less gentle than he normally was, but that little fact passed her by. Her need to feel him inside of her was outweighing her rational senses. She stroked him a few times but then she released him. Roughly she worked his pants and boxer down, letting them slide down so they were pooled on top of his feet. His throbbing flesh was now resting against her stomach.

"Nick, I need you inside of me," she urged him on.

A grin appeared on his face after he pulled back, releasing her curvaceous mounds, now wet and swollen from his ministrations. He grabbed his cock and teasingly pushed it against her clit, knowing he was tormenting himself at the same time. He had the same goal as Fran, wanting to slam in her and fuck her senseless.

Locking eyes, the passion between them overflowed their senses. Bringing his cock down he dipped his cock head in her warm flesh, then he stood still, bathing in the feelings that were growing deep inside. He pushed a little deeper, then withdrawing until just his tip remained inside. He repeated this several times, each inward push going deeper and deeper. All this time their eyes stayed locked together, the passion, the love, the need, the wanting they had for each other clear on their faces.

I love you so much, Fran told him mentally.

This short, sweet declaration of hers was his undoing and he slammed down on her lips, his tongue demanding immediate access, which she willingly gave. At the same time he pushed in completely, coating himself in her soft, wet folds. He savagely attacked her mouth, battling her tongue with his own. He started fucking her in the same rhythm, as if his life depended on it. Both were so caught up in their lust that their release surprised them both. Fran tightened over Nick? pulsating cock when waves of passion washed over her. At the same time Nick released himself inside her, coating her with his seed. He kept pushing until he was completely drained.

He felt her muscles relax, but he stayed in her, enjoying her around him. Slowly he caressed her back, his fingers running over like butterflies only briefly touching her. Their breathing went back to normal. Foreheads pressed together, they gazed at each other.  Fran couldn't help but smile at the fact that it was near impossible for them not to be together without losing themselves in each other. Leaning back, her hands traveled over his muscled chest, going up to his neck. She followed the contours of what she now knew was the claw of a wolf just peeking over his shoulder.

Suddenly there was a knock on the front door again. Fran bit back a groan and tried to push Nick away, but he stopped her. Bending down he gave her a quick kiss, then he slowly withdrew himself and sorted his clothes again.

"You hop in the shower again, I'll let Lis in," he told her.

"Are you sure?  She may be a bit, hmm, over the top right now. I called her last night after listening to her messages. I kinda forgot to call her back and she was rather worried, so I filled her in on a few things. I was careful not to reveal anything real important, but I did have to tell her who you really were, I was nearly deaf after she put two and two together. She will be shooting questions at you. "

"I'll be fine, remember I am an Alpha after all," he said. "You just take another shower and freshen up, I'll take care of Lis," he reassured her again.

"Ok, I'll be out in a minute then," she agreed and turned back to the shower.

Her second shower didn't last as long as the first and within minutes she was out and dressed in a comfortable skirt and blouse and joined Nick and Lis in her living room. They were chatting away as if they were lifelong friends. If he could win over Lis this fast without Lis making it into a shouting match, then Fran was convinced that everything would be working out just fine.

"Morning Lis, you slept ok?" she asked when she stopped next to Nick. She pulled back the chair next to Nick but before she could sit down Nick pulled her on his lap and cradled her against his chest.

"I slept fine after you called. But you two," Lis jokingly said, "you're like a Siamese twin, constantly all over each other."

"I blame him, he's only a bit protective," Fran squealed when she felt him tickle her sides.

"I'm sure you're fighting him every step of the way," Lis replied in playful disbelief.

"Hmm, on occasion she does, but I win in the end," Nick jumped in, nuzzling her neck.

"I get the message, I shouldn't have dropped by. You two really should get a room and work off some of that tension," Lis theatrically spoke.

"What do you think we have been doing the past week?" countered Nick, giving her a mischievous wink.

Lis burst out laughing. Walking around the table she managed to trap Fran in a hug and whispered in her ear: "He's a gem, I'm really happy for you.  He doesn't have a twin somewhere, does he?"

Fran had to giggle at her friend? remark and her cheeks went bright pink when she realized Nick probably heard every word. Yes, I did hear what she said, she's welcome to try with my brothers, they're both still single, he joked inside her head.

"I'll leave you two lovebirds alone, it's quite clear I'm the fifth wheel at the wagon right now. Don't think you're getting off easy though Fran, I want details later! I'll go to work and frighten them with being in so early," Lis cheerfully spoke while she made her way to the door. "I'll call tonight? Or is Mister Loverman there planning on whisking you away again?"

"I'll be home tonight and we'll catch up then, I promise. See you later Lis," Fran said.

"See you next time," Nick joined in.

When they heard the door close they both burst out in laughter.

"I hope we didn't scare her away"

"Lis, scared? That's something that happens very rarely. She doesn't scare easily but she watches over all of us like momma bear. I'm surprised she managed to wait this long and didn't call the cops sooner when she didn't hear from me," Fran commented.

Nick let out a long sigh and held Fran closer.

"Wish I could stay here just like this, but work is waiting. I know I will have tons of paperwork to get through," he stated.

"Give me a few minutes and I'll be ready. I'm guessing it won't be a problem at work with us showing up together?" she asked.

"Indeed, it won't, most of the workers are from my pack, there are a few humans as well, but they get rotated between the different offices so it isn't so obvious to them that most on the work floor are weres. Think by now the whole pack knows and the neighboring packs as well, news like this tends to travel faster than the speed of light," he answered. "But get ready, I'll tidy up the cups here and then we can leave, deal?"

"Ok, I'll be back in five minutes," she replied.

Arabella was going through some papers when Nick and Fran arrived at the office. Fran couldn't help but blush lightly when the older lady gave them a knowing look and smiled.

"I have to thank you, Arabella. The clothes you sent were just divine," she told her and made her way towards the other desk.

"I'm especially grateful for the box you added, it had a lot of nice surprises," Nick added, wiggling his eyebrows.

Fran? eyes bore into him. "Nick!" she chastised him. "I'm sure she? not waiting on those details. Didn't you just say you probably had tons of paperwork waiting to be done?" she said, chasing him out of the office.

"It's ok, I was young once too you know," the old lady winked at her. "I'm glad he finally found you and it seems you two have already decided on how to proceed. I mean you're still taking over as his P.A., am I right?"

"I am, that way we'll be close even when he needs to travel. On those occasions he may have to hire a temp for a week or so just to have someone take over for a bit. We haven't worked out the details, but I made it clear I wouldn't give up work. So maybe now you can get me up to speed with how you do things around here?" Fran replied.

The rest of the morning Nick hid in his office, going through loads of paperwork and working his way through a long list of phone calls. All the piled up work made him realize just how much work he took upon himself through all these years. Meeting Fran had made it clear it couldn't stay that way. The first step in lowering his workload was taking the day off on Friday. He wanted that day just for Fran and him and their car project.

At the same time as Arabella was getting Fran familiar with how things were done at SIW Inc., there was a knocking on their door, and Nick popped his head in.

"It's noon, how about I take you two lovely ladies out to lunch?" he asked.

The rest of the week was filled in the same way, in the mornings Fran learned more and more about the company, Nick took them to lunch every single day and in the afternoon he had always a few meetings on his agenda. They always arrived and left together.

She turned around and went to turn off her alarm clock, she set it half an hour earlier these days because Nick had the habit of stopping at her flat and having breakfast before they went in for work. This Friday wasn't much different. She waited in her bed for the turn of the key, telling her Nick was here.

She had a restless night and she buried herself deeper in her sheets and pulled a pillow over her head.

You can try and play hide and seek, my love, but you're not being very successful at it, Nick teased.

She sensed him near and without thinking she threw her pillow towards her bedroom door. She heard a loud rumbling and before she knew it Nick was on top of her, trapping her with his massive body. Teasingly he bared her shoulder and kissed it, laving his tongue over her tiny marks. She felt her wolf come awake at that loving move.

Without realizing it she suddenly got up and bucked Nick off her back. Very ungracefully he hit the floor next to her bed.

"Was that really needed?" he snapped, stroking over his black jean? covered ass.

"Sorry, I didn't know I was that strong," she replied. "I'm just a bit on edge, I didn't sleep well last night. Is it possible that may have to do with the full moon? I'm getting used to her, but she's getting very restless the last few days."

"Sorry, I shouldn't have snapped at you like that. I should have known you would get restless. It's full moon tomorrow, she's sensing that," he spoke apologetically.

Only now did she see how casual he was dressed in black jeans and a tight fitting black t-shirt.

"Aren't we supposed to go to work today?" she changed topic, pointing at his clothes.

"Nope, I changed the schedule a bit, no more working Fridays for us, my sweet. I?e reserved them for the car. I thought it would be nice to have a set day for it, that way we both can escape a little from the big bad world and indulge in what we love doing," he replied. "I thought we could go and start ordering all the parts you had listed before and take it easy for the rest of the day."

She listened with amazement. She sat up, the sheet clutched to her chest as she had removed her nighty during the night, that much it had bothered her. She smiled.

"Sometimes I think I don't deserve you, Nick. You never cease to amaze me."

"That's my only purpose, my sweet. I can't wait to meet your wolf, by how easily you threw me off I bet she'll be formidable," he said while getting up and then sat down next to her, pulling her in his arms. "Hmm, maybe it's a good idea to pack a bag, then you can stay until Sunday, you'll be very tired after your first shift and I probably won? want to let you go. Maybe we can start planning you moving houses too?" he tentatively asked.

She grinned when she looked up to him.

"I have to hand it to you, it took you a long time to touch that subject. I like this flat and it's been my home for many years, but this last week, us not being together only proved it to me. My home is where you are, if that means moving to the mansion, then I'll move to the mansion," she answered, the love pouring out of every word she said. The longing and need to be together was clear on her face.

"Then we don't have much to sort, just mark everything you want to take with you and I can have you moved in in less than a day. I'm sure we can make our furniture match," he stated.

"No need to, if I remember correctly all I need are a few little nick knacks, my clothes and some personal items. I happen to like how your home is decorated, mixing it with mine would destroy the harmony you have."

"You sure about that?" he asked.

"Hmm, remember, I was the one having the prophecy dream. The living room looked exactly as it does now, it was only cluttered up with toys," she chuckled.

He looked down at her, his eyes darkening with passion and the now familiar golden sparks.

"I wouldn't mind trying a little more," he teased, brushing his lips over her temple.

"Nice try, but I think I was told you could smell when I'd be in heat, doesn't require a lot of trying then," she countered his teasing.

Pushing him back a little more, she clutched the sheet against her bosom and she positioned herself on his lap, straddling his strong hips.

"True, but that doesn't mean I can't try and perfect my technique," he winked at her.

Laying down on his chest, she sighed in contentment. She heard his heart beating under her ear and she picked up that it started beating faster. Nick let out an uncomfortable groan when the easily lit passion was going through his veins and after only a few seconds his jeans felt like it was two sizes too small. Holding her gently he felt her shaking, picking up the joyous feeling she was emitting.

"What are you laughing at?" he asked, guessing right that her shaking was the result of badly covered up laughing. " Come on, spill, or do I have to tickle you again?" he used one of his threats he knew she didn't like. He never had met a person that was so ticklish.

She tried to sit up, but Nick's arms were trapping her close to his body. After a while she managed to sit up but during the little struggle she lost the hold she had on the sheet.

"I have to threaten you more, I like the outcome," he huskily spoke.

His hands traveled up her side, his thumb brushing the side of her breast. Moving his hand to her back he pushed her forward, leading her quickly hardening nipple to his wanting mouth. She grasped his shoulders and stifled a pleasurable moan. She moved against him when he started laving her other nipple in the same way he had paid homage to her other little nubbin.

Fran moved her hands to the nape of his neck, she brushed through his hair, gently tugged it. When he still didn't stop, she pulled a bit harder. Reluctantly he let the nipple slip from his mouth. Fran fought the urge to press him back against her chest, loving the feeling of his teeth scraping over her sensitive nipple. She looked him straight in the eyes.

"This whole situation is what I was amused about. We can't seem to get together without ending up making love. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining," she said while she slowly moved against his straining manhood. "Is it always going to stay like this?"

With much effort he kept his gaze on her beautiful face. He reached out and gently stroked her cheek. Fran immediately leaned into his hand. He brushed her lower lip with his thumb before placing it on her chin.

"I can only hope it's going to stay like this forever, I just have to be near your to be overtaken by passion. It's only now that I realize how strong the mating bond really is between mates. You have made me the happiest man alive and I'll spend the rest of our lives proving to you just how much you mean to me. We're starting the rest of our lives together today and I'll be damned if I'm not going to enjoy every single one of them," he stated, his devotion and dedication present in the way he spoke to her just now and how tenderly he was holding, as if she was the most precious thing in the world.

He brought his hand to the back of her neck and pulled her in for a searing kiss, branding her lips with his desire and his love wrapping around her like a comfortable blanket.

You say the sweetest things, my love, Fran told him. Make me yours again.

He didn't know how fast he had to undress, but that little plea had his wolf going mad with desire.

"I can't promise I won't rip your bed apart," he tried to apologize in advance.

"Consider it a goodbye to the flat," she whispered. She was on her hands and knees, looking over her shoulder. His shirt already lay forgotten on the floor and the two loud thuds made it clear he just had kicked off his heavy boots. Licking her lip she took in the inviting view of Nick stripping out of his jeans, revealing his throbbing manhood that stood proudly in a bush of black curls.

Once naked he pushed Fran further on the bed and knelt behind her. With his big hands he spread her legs, exposing her dripping wet pussy. Bending down he took in her intoxicating aroma and licked his lips. He was going to indulge himself first before he would claim her again. Spreading her labia with his thumbs, he leaned in and lapped at her pussy, starting from her clit, traveling slowly all the way up to her puckered hole. He felt the shivers going through her body and he repeated what he had just done.

He kept up this torture on her pussy for several minutes, Fran was begging and pleading for him to take her already, but he wasn't giving in. He wanted her to fall apart so he could drink her pure essence before he claimed her again. He smiled inwardly when he felt her tensing up, getting ready to lave his tongue with her sweet juices.

Come for me, my sweet, I know you want to. I want to taste, I want to drink every sweet little drop you are going to give me. Hmmm, so sweet. Come on, you can do it, cum for me baby,  he enticed her.

It was just what she needed to let go, it was only where Nick? hands that were keeping her straight while she rode the waves of pleasure that were traveling through her body. He kept licking until he felt her relax.

Ready for more? he asked, while sitting up and moving closer. Grabbing his cock, he moved it over her pussy lips, coating it with the few sweet drops that were left behind.

Claim me!</i> she urged him and with that he drove in her with one hard thrust, completely sheathing himself in her wet folds.

He growled when he felt himself losing control over his wolf, something that happened very rarely. Fran picked up on his turmoil and soothed him.

It's ok, shift, I want you to.

In a heartbeat she felt him shift, his hands becoming paws, three times the size of her tiny hands next to his. She felt his fur brushing at her back and she felt him grow inside her, filling her even more then he already was. His knot hadn't grown yet and he was fucking her with a frantic pace, as if he wanted to brand it in her memory who she belonged to. She had to hold on to his paws to brace herself and enjoy the love he was giving her.

She felt his knot growing and demanding access to her pussy. Trying to relax as much as possible, she had figured out that was the easiest way to make it a fast, less painful entry. Once he was in she knew she was always getting the fuck of a lifetime. Every single time it got better.

She knew he wasn't going to last long. He had showed again how much her pleasure meant to him by holding back on his own desire for so long, and when he finally let loose there would be no stopping him.

A rough tongue licked her neck, and in response she tilted her head, giving him more room. He pressed his furry cheek against hers as a low rumbling was originating from his chest. His wolf was getting ready to claim her again. With one last push, he drove himself deep inside of her and coated her inner walls with his seed. After a second he bit down, reopening the tiny marks.

She bit her lower lip when his teeth sank into her shoulder, but she was ready for it this time and held back the scream that had escaped her during their initial mating. Now she knew the pure bliss that was going to follow and she let out the air she had been holding back. Closing her eyes she joined him on his blissful trip to paradise.

The rough tongue licked over the marks sealing them once more. He rested his cheeks against hers. Forever mine, the wolf told her. She could only reply with Always yours.

Just as the first time, Nick shifted back and gently cradled her to him, letting them lay down on their sides. Thank you, my sweet, I needed this, he told her.  He felt her slip away in a passion induced slumber and he joined her only a few minutes later.

Slowly Fran opened her eyes, finding strong arms holding her tenderly and a warm chest pressed intimately against her. Leisurely she followed the strong lines on his hand, up his arm and down again. Nick shifted behind her and kissed her cheek.

"Morning, sunshine," he whispered in her ear.

"Hiya, think we succeeded again in wasting a whole morning," she said and pointed at her alarm clock.

"We didn't completely waste it, it was well worth it. But come on, let's get started with some of your packing then. I'll grab a shower first, then you tell me where your bags are. I'll get them out while you hop in the shower," he urged her on.

She groaned when she buried her head in her pillows again. She didn't know where he kept getting such stamina, but she was drained. Rolling on her belly, she felt Nick getting up. Turning her head she took in the marvelous naked man that was casually walking towards her bathroom. She could see the muscles moving in his thick thighs and his gorgeous butt. One day I'm going to get a piece of that ass, she thought to herself.

Only if I can do the same with you, Nick responded to her naughty thoughts.

Her cheeks sporting a bright pink blush, she buried herself deeper in her pillows. A few minutes later Nick was back, a towel hung on his hips and he was drying his hair with another one.

"Your turn now. I've put a few towels on the cabinet already. And I wasn't kidding, we're starting your move today, so tell me, where do you keep your bags, I'll get them ready by the time you're done?" he asked.

Rubbing her sore muscles, she slowly got up, draping the sheet around her. She made a little spurt to the bathroom, suddenly needing to pee very badly.

"They should be on the top shelf in the closet," she shouted.

The opening of the door meant Nick had heard her and was getting them ready. After flushing the toilet, she dropped the sheet in the laundry basket and stepped into the clouded shower. She grinned, as she wasn't the only one having sore muscles it seemed. Turning on the warm water she waited until she could barely endure it anymore before she added some cold water. Her muscles relaxed a little after a few minutes of standing under the steady stream.

Turning off the water she got out and dried herself. Luckily she found a clean set of clothing placed neatly on top of the toilet. Thanks for the clothes, Nick. When she stepped back into her bedroom she noticed as good as all her bags were neatly placed next to each other on her bed.

"Are you planning to get everything going in just one go?" she asked.

"As much as possible. The faster everything is moved, the better it is. You're in luck as well, I drove here in Chris' truck so we can take plenty with us already."

She shook her head, talk about life being a roller coaster. Opening her closet she took in what she really needed and what could possibly wait to be picked up later.

"I'll let you do some packing. I'm going to call the mansion and ask someone to clear up some space, to make room for yours," he told her after giving a quick hug from behind.

"Yeah, yeah, just go already, I'll sort my stuff here," she dismissed him.

Methodically she went through her clothes, folding work clothes neatly into one suitcase, casual clothes into a big bag. When she looked, she had to scratch her head, she didn't realize she had that many shoes. She picked out a few pairs she used regularly and she tossed the rest in another big bag. Finally she stepped back and she realized she practically had packed the whole closet, there were still a few empty bags left.

Lost in the throes of packing she didn't notice Nick standing in the doorway, only when he cleared his throat did she realize he was there.

"You've been packing for a whole hour, I think you will be fine for now. I took the liberty of ordering in some lunch," he told her.

Just the idea of having lunch made her tummy growl. She didn't get any breakfast either, no wonder she was hungry. She followed him to the living room where she found her table neatly laid out for two. Several boxes covered in Chinese drawings were neatly lined up between their bowls.

"I took a bit of everything. Have a seat and let's eat. I'm quite sure we're both very hungry," he suggested while pulling back her chair and helping her sit down.

"I didn't realize I was this hungry until you mentioned lunch, I feel I could eat a horse," she admitted.

"I know the feeling. Let's tuck in, before everything gets cold."

After lunch, Nick put her bags in the back of the truck and drove them back to the mansion. She was getting used to the polite nods she was getting from the people around them. Even though she didn't need to, she returned the gesture.

When all her bags were inside, she only unpacked a few, the less needed things she could do later. The thought that Nick wanted to get started on the restoration didn't leave her mind and the familiar buzz was humming through her body. She really wanted to start it and that's exactly what she told Nick.

She waited for him on the couch, he was getting his laptop from his study. They could make a more elaborate list of what they needed and where they could order everything.

Before they knew it, the moon was peeking through the windows. Looking outside, Fran felt the pull of it, her wolf whining that she wanted to get out and run. Tomorrow. Tomorrow you can run free, it isn't a full moon yet. One more day, you can wait one more day, she soothed her wolf.

"Come, I'll make us a sandwich in the kitchen and then we'll wrap everything up for now. Then I'm going to run you a nice hot bath to relax. How does that sound?" he comforted her when he picked up the tension she was trying to tone down.

"That sounds like a nice thing, but only if you join me," she replied.

"You try and stop me," he replied with a laugh.

He bent down over the couch and he picked her up in his arms.

"Nick, what are you doing?" she squealed, grabbing his shoulder.

"You look tired, so I'm carrying you to the kitchen and there you can patiently wait until our late dinner is ready," he answered.

"I may be tired, but I'm still able to walk."

"Hmm, but I like your body touching mine."

Fran had to laugh at his last remark. He was 175 years old, but he was acting like a sixteen year old in love for the first time. Cuddling closer she had to admit she liked it. He carefully put her down on one of the kitchen chairs and made haste when making a few sandwiches. When they emptied the plate, he picked her up again and went to the bedroom.

He lay her down in the middle of the bed and brushed her lips lightly with his own before getting up and walking towards the bathroom. You get undressed, by then I'll have the bath ready, he told her. Realizing just how tired she really was she groaned at the task at hand. She put on the silk dressing-gown she had laid on the bed after she was done unpacking.

Standing in the doorway she looked at Nick. He was seated on the side of the bath, his massive torso naked. She took in the movements of his muscles of every little move he made. It almost seemed the wolf tattoo on his back was moving with him. Stepping up she couldn't resist touching him, following the lines of the black piece of art that covered his back.

"There won't be a bath if you keep doing that, my sweet," he moaned.

Getting up he turned around. He pulled at the tiny rope that was keeping her dressing-gown closed. Parting the fabric, he uncovered her smooth skin. Tempted by her sweet scent he bent down and lightly brushed his lips over the curve of her breasts.

"In the bath, my sweet, before I change my mind and drag you to my bed." He winked at her.

He quickly stripped out of his clothes and joined Fran, cradling her against his chest. They enjoyed the warm relaxing bath, comfortable just being together.

"Come, I'll wash you, then we can get to bed. You'll need your rest for tomorrow. A first shift takes a lot of energy, so you'll need your sleep," he told her, while gently pushing her to sit up straight.

When they were done, they slipped under the covers naked. Nick lay on his back, Fran snugly close to his side, her arms around his waist. Like that they drifted off to sleep.

The next day they woke up early, nice and relaxed. Nick made breakfast again and after cleaning up the kitchen they decided to go for a walk in the woods behind the forest.

"We'll be running here tonight, the whole pack will be present. I hope you're ready to be sniffed at all sides," he grinned.

"Sniffed?"

"Yes, they respected the fact you are a changed werewolf and wouldn't be able to shift until now. So tonight they'll be sniffing you out, familiarizing themselves with your smell as wolf and they'll show subservience to you as Alpha Female. It's their way of showing respect and acceptance of you as my mate, new pack member and position within the pack," he explained. "You'll enjoy it, trust me, even all the little pups are running with us. It's a joy to see them hobbling along."

"I see. I can hardly wait. I feel her getting more restless with the hour. I can control her, but she's being very insisting about wanting out. Do I have to sniff the rest out as well?" she then asked.

"Just let your wolf take over, she knows what to do. You'll be fine," he reassured her.

After a quick lunch they spent the better part of the afternoon on the couch, telling each other of their past and Nick filled her in about more details he took care of being Alpha not only to his pack, but also to his part of the world.

Right after dinner that evening Nick got a phone call. It was his brother Chris telling him he'd be joining in the run, but that he'd join them at the lake and that he was bringing his mate. Nick asked who it was, but Chris kept it to himself. He said they would see at the lake who it was, he wanted it to be a surprise.

Nick scowled for a while after that call. Sure he didn't need permission to mate, one couldn't go against it. He just didn't understand why Chris was being so secretive about who his mate was. Hmm, he also said it would be a surprise for them, did he mean Fran by that? He really was getting curious now. Guess he'd know in a little while.

It was nearing midnight when everybody was gathering at the back of the mansion. You could see many faces being turned upwards towards the moon that shone bright high up in the sky.

I'm normally the one that shifts first and then they follow me. Tonight they'll wait until you have shifted as well. Are you ready?

Ready as can be, she replied.

Nick quickly undressed in front of everybody and shifted in a matter of seconds. He sat down next to her, gently brushing his cheek against her thigh.

Your turn now. Just relax and let her take over, he reassured her.

Pink blush had crept over her cheeks, realizing she had to strip in front of all of them, but she bit back the big lump in her throat. In a swift move she pulled off her shirt and pants and took a deep breath, closed her eyes and waited. A moment later she felt a painful itch going through her body, she heard bones snapping and when she opened her eyes again she noticed she was down on the ground.

Looking around she could pick out small details of her surroundings she hadn't noticed before. After the mating, her senses were already more sensitive, but what she experienced now was nothing compared to how it was before. Turning her head she saw Nick's wolf at eye level. Then it dawned on her.

I shifted!

You look amazing, my sweet. I never would have guessed you would turn out to be so amazing. Look down and see what color you have, he urged her on.

She did what he asked and she saw paws as white as snow. Puzzled a bit she tried to move.

I'm white? I thought I'd be brown or something. I mean, you got black hair and you're a black wolf. Shouldn't I be a brown wolf then?

Nick let our a small gruff and shook his head.

air color has nothing to do with how we look in our wolf form. It's in our DNA. Mostly those in my family are black, but on occasion a white wolf is born, it's rare, but not unheard of. I didn't think it would be a possibility as a changed human, but you're the proof it can happen. You look stunning, my sweet. Ready to run now?

She didn't even give an answer, but simply scooted off towards the forest. Nick let out a loud howl, signaling the pack, the run had started. He then ran after Fran, her white fur popping up occasionally between the branches. It didn't take much effort for him catching up with her and after a bit they were running together like a tandem.

Fran lost herself completely to her wolf, enjoying the wind that brushed through her fur. She had been a little bit anxious about shifting and thinking back, the initial pain wasn't as bad as Nick made it out be. She felt joy, happiness and a lot of love for Nick. Running together like this was pure bliss.

This is just amazing, Nick. And we do this every full moon?

Yes, we do. You don't have to, but the call of the moon is too strong. It helps strengthen our bond as a pack, he explained.

They kept running for a while longer, before Nick nudged her and hinted to follow him. They would all gather at the lake and rest together before going back home. Nick kept running at a steady pace, not going too fast so Fran could keep up. When they neared the lake he saw Chris had already arrived and was resting near a rock, a petite brown wolf resting cozily next to him.

Fran, would you come with me? It seems one of my brothers isn't a single anymore, but he refused to tell me who his mate was. He was going to tell us here, he hinted it would be a surprise for you too. Just wonder what the little devil has been up to, he spoke to Fran.

On his way to his brother he stopped at one of the wicker baskets that were brought here beforehand. Each contained a large amount of towels. Some preferred to stay as a wolf, some liked to take a midnight dip in the cold lake. But he thought Fran would appreciate the opportunity to cover herself when they talked to Chris and his mate. He pushed the lid to the side and grabbed two towels in his muzzle.

Fran followed Nick towards the rocks where she saw a black and a brown wolf resting together. The black one looked similar as Nick, so that must be Chris. She saw him tenderly nudging the brown wolf in front of him, as if he was telling her to shift. It seemed the two were having a small mental discussion, but it appeared Chris had won because he nudged her again.

A few seconds later a naked woman stood in front of them, she was slightly turned away, but Fran recognized the tiny butterfly tattoo on the hip of the woman. Without realizing it herself, she shifted as well and gasped.

"Mia? Is that you?" she whispered.

"Yes, it's me," came the shy reply.

Nick sat down and looked at her as well. If he'd been in human form they would have seen the disbelief in his eyes. He quickly got his senses back and dropped the towels in front of the ladies, Mia thankful she could cover herself up and Fran letting out another gasp when it dawned on her she was naked and back in human form as well.

It seems you two have some telling to do, go on. I'll see if I can get anything out of Chris, he told her while he gently nudged her in Mia's direction.

If they have the same thing as we have there isn't much to explain. Then I'm happy for her. At least it makes it easier for me, she answered. I now have a friend who I don't have to keep secrets from.

Holding out her hand, she waited for Mia, then walked away from the group. The next half hour was spent explaining and telling each other what all had happened to both of them. The only surprise for Fran was that Mia wasn't a changed werewolf, she? been born one. She told a bit more about heritage, her father being a were and her mother being a druid. That last fact didn't surprise her anymore. If Merlin was real, then why couldn't there be druids?

Mia explained how her mother had taught her how to hide her wolf side so it wouldn't be detected, not even by other wolves. She had taught her father the same thing, this made it possible for them to live where they wanted and stay out of harm? way from the pack's territory they were living in. Every few years they moved to hide the clear evidence they weren't aging like humans.

She also explained she wasn't out of the woods yet, she had fought against the mating instinct but once Chris had found out he didn't back down until he had her. Mia knew she would have to explain herself, and her family's way of living for so long. Fran reassured her that if she stayed truthful, things would work out just fine.

When they went back to the group they saw the three brothers sitting together near the edge of the lake. Each had covered themselves up with a towel. Fran and Mia slipped in between their respective mates and cuddled close. They sat together and enjoyed the silence between them.

Their peace didn't last long because suddenly high pitched howls and yelps could be heard. A clear sign the group of pups were arriving as well. They stormed through the bushes at the edge of the forest. Some of them were still very young and by now very tired, but they didn't want to give up. After getting to the clearing next to the lake they all dropped down in unison and cuddled together, seeking each other out for comfort.

That was good for all but the three little daredevils. Damon noticed Fran sitting at the lake and he hinted to his siblings where he was going.  Silently they moved closer as if they were stalking out a victim. When they were close enough they all jumped on the adults. Damon jumped in Fran's lap, Bill chose Mia as his victim, drawn to the new scent he was picking up, and Robin tackled Ed. She failed miserably because he? caught her midair and cradled her in his arms.

When they all were over the first surprise of the triplet? attacks, the three pups wiggled loose and all gathered in front of Fran. Damon stepped forward and nudged her, his brother and sister followed and did the same. They all were wagging their tails.

I'm not sure, but I think those three want you to shift again, Nick told Fran.

That isn't a problem, I'll have to practice anyway, she replied while she poked him.

Standing up, she loosened the towel, but held on to it. She closed her eyes and let her wolf take over. That painful itch she had felt the first time was barely noticeable this time around. In only a few seconds she had shifted and didn't feel any discomfort. She sat down next to three little pups who quickly gathered around her and snuggled up close.

Without giving it a second thought she bent down and lapped at each one, comforting them as a mother would soothe her own kids. Then she lay down, careful not to hinder the little ones around her. She felt a bit of movement at her side but she put it down to the little ones getting more comfortable.

"Well, I'll be damned," she heard Nick say, his eyes looking right next to her. "It seems we don't need to call in Merlin."

Not sure what he was on about she turned her head as well. Next to her was now three little kids sound asleep. She couldn't believe her eyes. How different they looked as wolves, how similar they looked now. You couldn't tell who was Damon and who Billy was. The only sign the middle one was Robin was of the longer blond curls that covered her angelic face.

Am I seeing right? They shifted? Fran asked Nick.

It seems so. I'll go get their parents, they won't believe it unless they see them as well,</i> he replied. In a second he shifted to his wolf and ran towards the big group of wolves that were resting and came back with two light brown wolves on either side.

They stopped right in front of the sleeping little ones as they shifted. It was clear to see the kids had inherited their mother's golden locks. Fran wanted to get up, but the mother stopped her.

"It's ok, just stay there. I don't know what you did, but I'm forever in your debt. I dreamed of the day they would finally shift, I was starting to get really worried, whether they were able to or not," their mother spoke politely.

The kids must have sensed their parents being so nearby because they opened their eyes and got up. They all ran to their mother, who caught them in a big hug. She picked up Billy, while their father picked up Robin and Damon.

"Daddy, wait," came the tiny voice from Robin. She wiggled a bit until her daddy put her back on the ground. She ran back to Fran and hugged her firmly.

"Now we have even more in common," Robin whispered in Fran? ear before she made a spurt to her father again.

6 months later

Nick lay down and relaxed in his bed, Fran's tired body sprawled over his. He couldn't be happier. Hugging her closer he went over the past months of their lives. After their first run she quickly had settled in his home. Bit by bit she had placed some of her belongings next to his and it made his home feel more like a real home.

A month after she joined him at the company they had held a little retirement party for Arabella. He'd made sure she would get a nice going away present and he made her promise if she ever needed anything she was free to contact him at any hour of any day.

Fran and himself got into a nice rhythm about their work and when he had to go out of the country she went with him. One always knew where the other was. He sighed. He was content with how his pack was thriving, especially now that his two brothers had found their mates as well.

This morning Fran had given him the best present he could imagine. Later that day he was planning to give something in return. He smiled, remembering all the trouble he went through trying to sort his little surprise and keeping it hidden from Fran.

He felt her stir on top of him. He trailed his fingers through her long locks. She moaned contentedly at the soft caress.

"Morning, sunshine, ready for another day at the car? It's about time we finished it, don't you think?" he told her, making the first move towards his surprise.

"It's already finished, we only have to polish it and take it for its official first drive," she replied while getting up.

She rubbed her eyes, trying to push back the drowsiness of her early morning nap. Rarely had there been a day when Nick didn't wake her up and make love to her in the early morning hours, just before dawn. Then he just held her while she usually fell back to sleep, next or on top of him.

She'd come to love the Fridays they spent working on the car, sure she did most of it, but she didn't mind, she enjoyed it. Last week the car was returned, covered in a brand new color. The only thing that was still needed was giving it a good rub down and making it all shiny.

"But if you insist on finishing it today we better make a move on," she teasingly said.

Getting more comfortable with her nakedness, she dropped the blankets and rose up from the bed and walked towards the bathroom, hips swaying.

Nick groaned when he saw her walking away. He would have preferred to drag her back to the bed and make love to her again. But his surprise today was more important. They could make love to each other for a long time to come. He started counting until she appeared from the bathroom again, hair still wet but fully clothed. At least he wouldn't be so tempted now, he hoped.

"Do you want an easy breakfast or are you making one?" she asked when she passed the bed.

"Just wait for me, I'll toss something together. Let me hop in the shower first," he answered.

He watched her leave their room and he was sure she would be taking care of the coffee. Throwing the blankets aside, he ran to the bathroom and showered in record tempo. He didn't bother putting on his boxers, instead he slipped straight into his favorite black jeans before he joined Fran in the kitchen.

She already sat waiting at the table, a mug of steaming coffee in front of her while she was browsing through the newspaper. That became her usual routine when he made breakfast.

After they were done, Nick got the rest of his clothes and they walked towards the barn. Before they really started on the car he had reorganized it a little so they had plenty of room to work and even found space to put in some machinery they borrowed from Chris' shop. It made it easier than always going back and forth for little things.

They never talked much when they were working on the car, not even mentally. They both liked it, they escaped reality for a little while and both did something they loved.

Two hours later and Fran stepped back, taking in the result of their hard work.

"I think she's finished now. What do you think?" she asked, not letting her eyes stray from the car.

"Perfect, just perfect," he answered.

Something in his tone made Fran look at him and saw he wasn't looking at the car at all but looking at her. He retrieved the car keys from his jeans pocket, secretly checked if his little addition to the key ring was still there, then tossed the keys to Fran.

"Why don't you take her for a spin?" he said with a glint of mischief in his eyes.

Without effort Fran caught the keys and made her way over to the car and got in. She was about to put the key into the ignition when she felt something sharp pushing in the palm of her hand. Turning it around she saw a ring attached to the car keys. She looked up for a second seeing Nick's face turned way. It was clear he was trying not to look her way.

Not sure what to make of the ring she got out again and walked up to him.

"Not sure if you know, but since when do we carry rings on our car keys?" she asked him.

"Since the moment I wanted to marry the woman who's going to be the mother of my child," he told her huskily.

It took a few seconds to sink in before Fran realized what he had said.

"You want to marry? But we're already mated, wolves don't marry, you told me that yourself," she answered, confused.

"I know, but there can always be firsts. I know for a fact you wouldn't make just me the happiest man on this earth if you say yes," he said.

"As far as I know, I'd be marrying you, not some other man," she retorted.

"Hmmm, but when you walk down the aisle, someone has to give you away or isn't that the normal way?" he spoke.

"You mean to tell me my father knows about this?" She dangled the keys in front of him.

"He does, he even helped me organize everything," he said as he pulled her in his arms. "I knew from the moment you said you didn't want to leave your family behind, I had to find a way to make you all happy."

"Nick, as long as I have you, I'm happy. I understand our ways, a marriage isn't needed," she interrupted him.

"I know. But you didn't forget the Italian roots of your father, did you?" he asked in return. "Think he would be ok with us 'just' living together forever?"

Fran had to agree, it was a valid point. They already hadn't told her father straight away she had moved in so soon, they had waited four months before even telling him and even then he was still a bit skeptical about it. He got along fine with Nick, but it was true that the old fashioned sense of marriage always came through.

"We only need one word from you and in less than a month you'll be calling yourself Francesca Saint Ives Whelan Ontario. Thinking about it, I'm going to have to order bigger envelopes with that name," he joked.

"What do you say to let it be Francesca Whelan Ontario and we have a deal?" she told him, her eyes glittering with happiness.

"I'm taking that deal, yes it is," he replied a second before slanting his lips over hers, proving his love once more. "Then you can tell your dad he's becoming a grandfather in nine months as well."

"Are you sure about that?" she countered.

"You didn't listen when I told you that I can smell when you're in heat and sweetheart, this morning you were definitely in heat and I hit the jackpot, no doubt about that." He grinned while he tenderly laid his big hand over her flat tummy.
