Chapter 10 : The End is Near.
Bron sat there, lost for words at what she just read. The torment he must have gone through with what he did, no matter how justified the cause may have been. No wonder he was as messed up as she was. The difference between them now was that he confronted the issue and she ran and hid and tried to survive. Her near attack almost making her do the same if it wasn't for one person.
Her heart ached when she thought of him. He was so caring and tender, not once did he push her for anything. She got a bit angry at herself for the roller coaster ride her emotions were taking her on. Grabbing her hair she pulled on it hard until it hurt. She wanted to scream out her frustration at just about anything. Giving in, she did just that and afterward turned bright red, hoping her neighbors didn't think anything was wrong.
Some minutes later she felt safe to move again, nobody had rang or knocked on her door. Then she laughed. Not sure if he had done this on purpose or it was just coincidence but in a way Atlas was letting her see she wasn't alone, that she could share her burden, her fear, maybe turn said fear into something else. Maybe what she had to do was something she should have done instead of running, maybe she should have talked to that cop.
She should talk about this to someone, maybe Mia would be up for a little heart to heart. Something inside of her felt wrong thinking that, not Mia, she had to talk to someone else. Adam. She wanted to talk to Adam, he already proved to be a great listener. The only problem now was when was he getting back into town?
Feeling a bit too raw to reply to Atlas, she shut down everything and hoped that going out for a meal would ease her tension. It didn't take long for her to end up at Adam's tavern and order her usual. She hid a smile as they now treated her as a well-seasoned regular. She managed to always have the same spot available to her, one where she could watch the side entrance into the tavern from the private area in the back, you never know when he could show up.
Not long after she sat down a tall glass of ice water was put in front of her, decorated with a bright colored paper umbrella. Katie simply asked if she wanted the usual and with an affirmative nod from her, twirled around to place the order in the kitchen.
She put down the little notebook and began scribbling down little nothings, ideas floating around in her mind. It could be as simple as a name she liked or a scene that she felt drawn too. She used to be able to just remember it all, but after her ordeal she found that jolting them down was needed. It had frustrated her to no end to be unable to bring forth the details she recalled so easily before. Frowning a little, she tried to smooth down the folded edges of the worn out notebook.
When the alluring smell hit her nose she knew her meal had arrived and with an appreciative smile she thanked Katie who smiled back in turn. Digging in, she lost herself again to the emotions that Atlas brought forth with his story and tried to put things in perspective. Occasionally she wrote down things she wanted to tell Atlas. With things falling into place now she focused on finishing her meal.

Dolores sobbed, cringing silently as she tried to roll over. Every little move hurt as if little pins were permanently stuck into every part of her body. For the first time ever, she realized in what kind of trouble she was and she had to admit she was in over her head. Derrick was a sick pervert. There wasn't a part on her skin he hadn't touched, pinched, beaten or cut. She lost consciousness more times than she could count.
At first, she had fought hard to not give him the satisfaction of hearing her scream in pain, but then he upped his efforts and before long she was a quivering mess that hung limp on the silver chains. When he couldn't get any more reactions out of her he had thrown her onto a pile of pillows, falsely letting her believe things were over.
She believed that for at least five minutes, then he had put her on all fours and slammed himself hard into her ass, the pain he caused her made her cry out and collapse on the pillows. The laughter that erupted from him only put her even more to shame. That's when she must have passed out for the last time because now she woke up in her own bed, shivering, shaking and hurting all over. The soreness between her legs told her it wasn't just her ass he raped. More tears fell down her marred cheeks.
Almost, she almost wished she was dead, she didn't want to go through this again. Slowly as not to cause herself more pain then she could endure, she walked to her bathroom and started to run a bath. Going over to the cabinet she searched to see if there were things she could use to help ease her pain. Even with her werewolf ability to heal faster than a human, she knew she was badly hurt and it would take a few hours more before she'd be able to walk around with relatively no pain.
The scars were still very visible, but smelling her own skin, she knew they were already healed a lot for she smelled like she bathed in her own blood. She wanted this smell gone. Doing a quick once over, she turned to look at her back through the mirror above the sink. Welts in all the colors of the rainbow marred her back. A few scabs hung loose. She grunted and turned off the water for the bath, she needed a shower first for she didn't want to soak in her own skin that she knew would come lose any second now.
Getting under the shower, she didn't care if the water was warm or cold, it hurt either way. Putting the spray on maximum, she bit her lip as the water hit her back, she almost collapsed by the pain it caused. She tasted blood, fresh blood. It was all too much and she started to really cry now, her sobs covered by the water cascading down on her. First she leaned her head against the wall, then her knees buckled and slowly she fell to the ground, the water still running over her now shivering body.
It seemed like ages before she got a grip on herself, turned off the water, managed to get up again and move to the bath. The water there was still warm indicating she hadn't lost as much time as she thought she had. Stepping in, she welcomed the heat surrounding her and closed her eyes. Her inner walls crumbled even further, her wolf coming out of hiding. She whimpered, feeling how her human was hurt and scarred.
Her wolf felt embarrassed for abandoning her but she couldn't stand it any longer. She was always as lustful as her human, but she drew the line at humiliation and forcing others. Shame enveloped her as she crouched down and whimpered, wanting her human's attention and forgiveness for leaving her alone.
Dolores gave her a sad smile. I don't blame you for hiding, I passed out too. I couldn't take no more. I don't want this, she admitted to her wolf. I have to find a way out of here, alive or dead. The last few words made her wolf whimper even harder. She didn't like giving up, but just as her human, the wolf knew they would have to be extremely lucky to get away alive. Those chances were slim to none.
Everybody disappeared at one time or another.
Both went over the good times they had at the pack which turned to sadness when she wasn't able to bow to her new Madam. She had set her eyes on her Alpha, wanting him for herself, yet he chose a human and changed her. She couldn't cope with that. Fran was too nice, too kind, too friendly and liked too much by the pack. It was Fran who had put the ultimatum to her. Leave freely or be cast out. She left willingly. She didn't even take up Fran's offer for finding her a new pack, she would manage. Or so she believed.
Looking back now, it all seemed too good to be true. Derrick had doted on her from the second she had set foot in his club. Quickly, she had made her way up, feeling at home with his wealth and his kinky side. Later, she found out what more he was involved in, by then it was too late to back away. Begrudgingly, she went along with things, simply ignoring them at first but once he started to take her to more darker "meetings" and "initiations" did she knew how deep she was in.
Last night proved how wrong she had been. She had thought she could wrap him around her little finger, trying to keep away from most of his dealings. Finally, she felt ashamed of herself at why she let herself get so carried away, once more thinking she was all that.
She sobbed quietly now, her wolf curling around her mentally. They stayed like that until she started trembling from the water turning cold. Looking down her shaking body, she noticed that most of the scars had turned to bright red welts, another hour or two and those would be gone too. Carefully she got out and slowly dried herself. Sitting on her bed in her just her bathrobe she contemplated what to do and how to go forward.
Dolores knew she wouldn't be happy if she wasn't the top dog. She couldn't join another pack. Most Alpha's were already mated and the few she knew that were still single were weaklings and it limited her options greatly. After considering the rest of her options she could only see one way out, her wolf whimpered at that line of thought.
I know we're not quitters but we can't go anywhere, we're at our lowest ever. It's my only choice. I'll stand up to him, tell him I will not take any more of this kind of abuse, what happens than is up to him but I will not let him touch me like that ever again. I'll fight him every step of the way!
Her wolf cringed, whimpered, whined, howled… but she didn't try to persuade her otherwise. She knew they were lost and she gave in. All she could do now was stand next to her human and give her the strength she needed to stand up to him.
Ohhhh Dolores I hope she has enough to deal with what might happen to her for taking a stand against Derrick. Hopefully she wont have to take alot of the force that I am sure will becoing from that evil evil soul of his. Sure she thought it was the best in the begining for her but almost seems a bit late but maybe she can help save some others before what he does happens to someone else. Great tease Mo looking forward to the full chapter!
